Is There a Pot of Gold at the End of the Runway?
The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE, of which I’m a proud member) and the International Association of Airport Executives have several joint meetings each year. In 2013, one of them is “Transatlantic Options for Increasing Non-Aeronautical Airport Revenue.” From the conference website:
“Shrinking federal budgets and constrained local resources have forced airports across the globe to focus increasingly on innovative ways to raise non-aeronautical revenue to support airport operations.”
The conference was held July 1 to 3 in Dublin, Ireland. I suppose if you hope to find a pot of gold at end of the runway, that’s where you’d start looking for it…
